What is Building Bridges?
Building Bridges is a free grief support program for children, teens, and their caregivers who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives. Unlike traditional counseling, this program focuses on peer support, creative activities, and practical coping strategies to help families move forward together.
Upcoming sessions:
Spring 2026: Tuesdays | Feb. 10 — March 31 at 6:30 p.m.
Fall 2026: Tuesday | Sept. 15 — Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
All events are held at the main Hospice of Wichita Falls campus, located at 4909 Johnson Rd., unless otherwise indicated.
Who can attend?

Participants are grouped by age to engage in discussions and activities designed to help them express their grief and find comfort among peers who have experienced similar losses.
Caregivers
Caregivers
Parents and guardians can participate in a caregiver group that takes place at the same time as the kid’s groups. This group offers education, guidance, and support to help caregivers process their own grief while learning how to best support their grieving children.

A Community of Support
Grief can feel isolating, but no one has to go through it alone. Building Bridges fosters a sense of connection by bringing together families who share similar experiences. This program helps children and teens recognize that they are not alone in their grief while providing caregivers with the tools to create a nurturing and supportive environment at home.

Who Can Join?
Building Bridges is offered at no cost to families grieving any type of loss—participation is not limited to those connected to hospice services.
