Hospice of Wichita Falls is available 24 hours a day by dialing (940) 691-0982. If you call during normal business hours of 8-5 Monday – Friday it is important that you tell the receptionist that you need the homecare department so that we will direct your call appropriately. If you call at a time when the office is closed, the call will be handled by our answering service. A nurse is on-call for our hospice patients 24 hours a day 7 days a week and will assist you with your needs as they arise.

Hospice of Wichita Falls cares for most individuals in their own homes, or in contracted nursing facilities or assisted living facilities. Our homecare program serves all or parts of the following Texas counties: Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Haskell, Jack, Knox, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger, and Young.
Each patient is assigned to a team of experts that will be responsible for providing care and support to the patient and their family during their end-of-life journey. Your team of professionals will include a specially trained RN, LVN, Hospice Aide, Social Worker, Volunteer, Chaplain, and Physician. Your team is trained to address the medical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient and the family.
The hospice team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for support, consultation, and visits. In the nursing facility or assisted living facility, the team becomes an adjunct to the staff, advising, teaching, observing, supporting the patient and family, and providing extra equipment if needed. The Hospice of Wichita Falls RN Case Manager assigned to your team will work with you and the hospice team to identify your desires and needs and ensure that your plan of care will satisfy those needs and desires.

Hospice of Wichita Falls will pay for medications that are related to your hospice diagnosis. After admission to Hospice of Wichita Falls, our medical director will review your current medications and determine which ones will be paid for by Hospice of Wichita Falls.
How do I know when and how often my visits will be scheduled?
The number of visits that you receive from each discipline is determined by you and the hospice team according to your needs. We welcome your input as to what days that you would prefer the visits to fall on and we will make every effort to accommodate those request.
How long will my visits last from the hospice staff?
On average the visit from a hospice staff member will last approximately 1 hour. However, the length of time the visit requires is determined by your needs or problems at the time of the visit.
What happens if my symptoms cannot be controlled at home?
We will make every effort to control your symptoms at home. However, if it is determined that you need more care than we can provide in the home, we may offer to transfer you to our W. Erle and Emma White Hospice Inpatient Center. When your symptoms are again controlled, you will return to your home with guidance from our physician on managing your care.
