A step by step guide to getting started with Hospice of Wichita Falls

Whether you know you need hospice care or you just need to know more, we’re here to answer questions and provide support.

1. Call

If you have an emergent need, please call us at (940) 691-0982 or Toll Free at 1-800-378-2822.

2. Complete a referral

Anyone can make a referral. Once the referral has been completed, you can expect to hear back from us within one business day. In order to be admitted, the patient must have a physician’s order. We are more than happy to reach out to the patient’s health care provider in order to get the necessary information to initiate services.

3. Have an initial visit

At this visit, the patient and caregivers will work with our admissions team to complete an assessment, determine a place of care, order medications and begin the patient’s personalized plan of care.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can Hospice of Wichita Falls help my family and me?

Regardless of whether you reside in a nursing facility, assisted living facility, or your private home, we will provide you and your family with physical, emotional, and spiritual support. While on our services we cover the costs of your medications, medical equipment, and supplies related to your life-limiting disease.

How can I get more information or talk to someone about my specific needs?

You can call (940) 691-0982, simply stop by our office during regular business hours, or send us a message through the Contact Us page.

How do I know when its time for hospice care?

Hospice care is available for those with a life-limiting illness. Hospice focuses on care and comfort (palliative care) rather than curative treatment. Early admission into hospice allows more time for the hospice team to fully understand the needs of the patient and family.

How much will this cost?

Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies. No one is ever denied hospice services due to an inability to pay.
